The Medical Superintendent/Chief Medical Officer/Medical Officer/Medical Officer In-charge/GDMO of all hospitals and BHU Grade I    [Posted on: 2012-02-09]

Subject:  Quantification of Anti-TB drugs

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is for general information that henceforth the quantification of all First Line Anti-TB Drugs should be submitted to the National TB Control Program (NTCP) on an annual basis. The TB program will then compile, verify and submit this quantification to the Health Care Division of the Department of Medical Services for onwards submission to the DVED. This is to ensure that Anti-TB drugs are quantified enough to last for the period of one year by the concerned reporting centers based on the number of TB cases notified in the previous year.

This decision was amended during the recent meeting on the procurement issues held on 16th January 2012, wherein the two Departments have reached to the consensus. Your quantified indents for 2012 should reach to the National TB Control Program not later than 15th February 2012 and for the subsequent years, it should be followed the same.

In case if there is a doubt pertaining to this quantification, please contact TB program at crinzin@health.gov.bt and tashidendup@health.gov.bt or call at telephone #17718208/17612647

Call for Stricter Implementation of DOT    [Posted on: 2012-02-09]

This is for general information that all Pulmonary Positive TB (“an open case”) poses a great threat to the general population.  We have made great stride in bringing down the case load to less than 500, as notified, according to annual TB Cohort report. This we attribute to our Directly Observed Treatment Strategies and the commitment of all those associated with it. However, during the Annual TB review and observation by many experts, DOTS in our set up is not implemented as it ought to be. Hence, the Department of Public Health seeing upward trends in MDR-TB and flattering of sputum conversion rates all the members involved, in detection, care, treatment and follow up of cases urge to enforce stricter DOTS and close follow up-until the case is declared completely cured.

Henceforth, all reporting centers should segregate all new cases of pulmonary positive TB patients with proper history of whether he or she had TB treatment before or not and this must be submitted to TB program along with the new smear positive cases and sputum conversion status report on a monthly basis. The TB program will inter-act similarly-through emails with reporting centers until the registered case is completely cured.

This is issued for your strict compliance

Global Polio Eradication Initiative Press Release - INDIA RECORDS ONE YEAR WITHOUT POLIO CASES; Critical need to maintain immunity to poliovirus in India until global eradication achieved    [Posted on: 2012-01-15]

India appears to have interrupted wild poliovirus transmission, today completing one year without polio since its last case, in a 2-year-old girl in the state of West Bengal, on 13 January 2011. India was once recognized as the world’s epicentre of polio. If all pending laboratory investigations  return negative, in the coming weeks India will officially be deemed to have stopped indigenous transmission of wild poliovirus. The number of polio-endemic countries, those which have never stopped indigenous wild poliovirus transmission, will then be reduced to a historical low of three: Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria.

Are you getting frustrated because your computer runs very slow?
In order to run normally, your computer needs certain amount of memory in its primary partition (usually C drive). Saving too many file on the “Desktop” or in “My Documents” will eat up the memory in the primary partition. Try saving the files on the different drive other than the C drive.
