20 Million USD Grant by ADB for Health Sector Development Program

The Hon’ble Finance Minister and the Country Director for ADB Bhutan Resident Mission signed the $ 20 million grant for (SDP) today at the Tashichhodzong.

The grant, in alignment to the 12th FYP of the Health Ministry, will support efforts of the Royal Government of Bhutan to improve the equity, efficiency, and sustainability of the country’s health system.

The HSDP includes a $14 million policy-based grant, which will support governance and institutional improvement in health financing and health information system; and a $6 million project grant to help Bhutan to progress toward universal health coverage based on the principles of primary health care and to achieve targets under the Sustainable Development Goals.

HSDP will be first ‘delegated project’ to be directly handled by the ADB Bhutan Resident Mission.
