The 9 days Clinical Orientation program on Emergency Medical, Trauma & Obstetric care for newly recruited health personnel came to an end today. This course is a mandatory course on annual basis for all newly recruited doctors and nurses before they are posted to various health facilities around the country. It was endorsed during 12th High Level Committee (HLC) meeting on 8th October 2013 and subsequently endorsed by then Health Minister on 22nd October 2013.
The main objective of this program is to orient the newly recruited health personnel to the practices, procedures and standards of Emergency Medical, Trauma & Obstetric care services in the country. It is also expected to further strengthen the emergency medical and trauma care services in the country.
The final day ended with the closing remark by the Hon’ble Dean, Faculty of Post-graduate Medicine of KGUMSB, Dr. Tashi Tenzin. Certificates of completion were also awarded to the participants.
This is the sixth round of clinical orientation program being organized by Ministry of Health (Emergency Medical Services Division) in collaboration with JDWNRH (Emergency Department) & KGUMSB. The orientation program was attended by 13 medical doctors, 13 clinical nurses and 5 dental surgeons.
