Reproductive Maternal and Newborn Health Program under Department of Public Health conducted Annual EmONC (Emergency Obstetric and Newborn care ) focal person meeting from 3-5 June, 2019 at Tsirang with the theme ‘Quality matters in maternal and child health’. The meeting is conducted annually to update the knowledge and skills of EmONC focal person on Reproductive, Maternal and Child health.
The annual meeting covered range of topics to strengthen the quality of care such as POCQI (Point of care quality improvement) projects for MCH (maternal and child health) in the health facilities, strengthening reporting mechanism for MCH, capturing near
maternal miss cases and updates in Newborn health. The meeting also included hands on practice like postpartum hemorrhage drill and newborn resuscitation drill aimed at team formation for emergencies and initiatives in the health facilities.
