The third training on Medical Camp Kit (MCK) installation is being conducted at Gelephu Central Regional Referral Hospital for 4 days from 11th to 14th December 2018, by Emergency Medical Services Division, Department of Medical Services in collaboration with WHO Country office. It is aimed to prepare health facilities to make use of the MCK in times of public health emergencies and disasters. MCK is a temporary health facility setup to ensure continuity of basic health care services to the population when primary health care centers or hospitals during public health emergencies and disasters. Thus, MCK is an essential standby health facility for emergency preparedness and response. MCK have provision for male and female wards, maternity ward, staff room, consultation rooms, store room, toilet and is solar-powered.
Participants for the training comprises of representatives from all the hospitals in the country, Desuups, RBP, Ministry of Education and other relevant stakeholders.
The third day of the training, which is the exhibition of the MCK was graced by the Honorable DG, DMS, Dasho Dzongda of Sarpang Dzongkhag and other sector heads of Sarpang and Gelephu. The fourth day of the training will be on dismantling and packaging the MCK tents and other contents.
